Happy Halloween

By Goddess in Progress ·   October 31st, 2008

The kids did very well on their first “real”-ish Halloween.  Last year was a screamy mess of a day, right smack in the difficult 3-month-old stage.  This year is a whole new world, with relatively predictable naps and funny, interactive kids.  Last year I didn’t bother with costumes.  I got a couple of t-shirts, and that was that.  This year they’re still too young for trick-or-treating and candy (and they still go to bed earlier than most of the kids start knocking on doors), but we got our costumes and said hey to the neighbors and had a good time.  What were the winning costumes?  We picked the Pirate outfit for Daniel, it seemed sort of stocky and appropriate to his personality.  With Rebecca…  all of those girly costumes seemed too, well, girly!  She’s no butterfly, and her fairy princess days are not yet upon us.  And then we decided we didn’t care if anyone mistook her for a boy.  Because the Ninja costume was just entirely too perfect.  Behold…

We even learned how much fun it is to throw leaves up in the air.  Hooray!

    Love the new site & the costumes are perfect! I’m with you on the sickening sweet girly stuff. Ninjas are waaay cooler. I can’t wait until next year – ours slept in bouncy seats while we had a few trick or treaters! Next year will be way more fun. Congrats on the new blog!

    I do so love the fact that Rebecca is a Ninja! She could easily kick my booty. Both of those outfits make them look like they are 3 years old! Look how Daniel poses! How in the crap do you keep hats on your kids? Kate hate hats–she must think they are huge hairy spiders by the way she acts.

    I really, really like your new site. If feels, so, well, new :-)

    Rebecca looks adorable (as does Daniel). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a million more times – you are an amazing photographer.

    Do you get tired of people telling you how cute your kids are? Because if you do, I’ll just stop. But really, they’re off-the-charts cute.

    Wowza, are they cute! I can’t get over how much your daughter looks like you. I’ve only seen you once, and I would have been able to pick her out of a lineup. Great costumes. I went with the totally inappropriate butterfly, myself. Largely because it was easy. =}
