My MOT club had it’s semi-annual sale this weekend. I did a full write-up over at HDYDI, if you want to read (and behold photographic evidence) all about the madness that was. The long and short of it is that it was a smashing success, both for me personally and for the club.
I sold for the second time. My van was pretty full upon arrival for setup on Friday night. Two high chairs (nice timing, right??), a diaper pail, a bunch of toys, and a big Rubbermaid crate filled to bursting with clothes. And then, my friend was selling her Maclaren. It was in such lovely shape… and the Peg Perego that was so bugging me was right out there in the van…. I ran out, wiped it off, brought it in, and slapped a tag on it (for the same price I was about to pay for my friend’s Maclaren). I called M on the way out to the car, and I could almost hear him roll his eyes when he said “do whatever you want, honey.” Heehee. So the nice black & red Maclaren was sweet loot purchase #1 on Friday night.
Saturday morning, even more people arrived with even more stuff. I knew immediately what I wanted, and was glad that my very early arrival meant I was 5th in line. I tried to pretend I had some pride, and barely restrained myself from running when we were allowed in (not everyone is so restrained, trust me…). I made a beeline back to the large equipment area. SCORE! THE WAGON IS MINE!
Heh. It was all good after that. Got a couple of books and an item or two of clothing for the kids. The sale was absolute madness, and it appears that nearly every single thing that I brought was sold. There was almost a fight over my stroller, and it was sold within the first 20 minutes. Glad my friends convinced me to bump up the price from my initial thought! Three hours later, with the exception of one toy and a handful of shirts, all of my stuff was gone. I’ll find out later, but I’m going to guess that I’ll be getting a check for over $200. Wohoo!
In the meantime, the kids friggin love their new wagon. Especially, for whatever reason, the cupholders.

It’s all about the cupholders, baby!
Our MOT sale was this weekend also. I did not take pics but it was also insane (we have 500+ members). I made a beeline for shoes… funny how the priorities change over time. I got 10 pairs of shoes for $30… all much needed with the potty training.
I also got more boosters bc we are always having people over for dinner.
One thing I noticed with the bad economy is there was a LOT more stuff and people were pricing everything to move. I tried to do my part to help

Jennifer’s parents got us one of these for Christmas and it sat in the garage for a couple months. But in the last two months, we use it ALL THE TIME. the kids love it because they get to ‘participate’ with their surroundings more than in a stroller.

This is why I am selling next time. All the good large equipment is gone by the time us members get a pick. I am green with envy on your wagon.

I still have not gotten it together to sell at our MOT club sale. I really hope to in the fall. And hearing about everyone’s great purchases is inspiring me.
And I have been definitely wanting to get my kids a wagon…that one looks perfect. Also, what kind of cups/bottles are those that your kids have in the wagon? Those look neat.

That is the best wagon — actually just bought (full retail — gulp) if for my girls over the weekend. The girls love it — cup holders do rule
Our tag sale is not until the first weekend in May so really looking forward to it! Congrats on the bargins and the check.
OK, first of all, I have Wagon Envy. Of course they love the cupholders; why shouldn’t they? Toddlers live the life. They get to be pulled in wagons, AND they have a place to put their sippy cups? Why don’t I have that!!!!
Second, I am extremely impressed by/frightened of the MOT club sale! Truth be told, I wish there was something like that for me to participate in. I’ll be reusing a lot of stuff for this next baby, but soon, I’ll have a bunch of things in good condition to sell. I’d love to sell my single strollers, for example, since I’ll soon be getting a BOB double jogging stroller (I hope). Sigh! My conclusion is that twin moms are superwomen!
OH MY SISTER. You will LIVE in that wagon this summer! My beloved in-laws got that very same, cup-holder equipped wagon for our two when they were R & D’s age and we LOVED it. (We do have a funny story of when we were potty training and all the sudden I noticed the wagon floor was moist….
)
Looks like the sale was a HUGE success…have to go over to HDYDI and read more! Great get.

We have the same wagon, although the cupholders don’t hold the girls’ favourite cups. We actually ONLY use the wagon; we gave up the stroller entirely just before their second birthday.
