You’ll have to excuse me. I’m having a sneaky hate spiral kind of a day.
Except mine tend to involve a lot more inwardly-directed hate, and the desire to curl up in a ball on the couch, eat a lot of junk food, and watch Extreme Home Makeover until I’m dehydrated from all of the crying, and otherwise filled with self-loathing.
Of course, it was a Monday and I have three kids, so that wasn’t so much an option. Grocery store. Laundry. Lunch. Dance class. Dinner. Etc, etc, etc, etc.
Time to climb into bed, listen to some sappy music, and hope for a better mood tomorrow.

You know what would help? READING HUNGER GAMES! I can’t believe you haven’t read them yet!

I’m sorry you’ve had a rough day. But thank you so much for for the sneaky hate spiral definition. I totally had a day like that yesterday and when my husband asked what the hell was wrong with me all I could say was “Nothing… and Everything!”
Now I have a much better answer.

I hear dipping full chocolate bars in jars of peanut butter works wonders. Sending you some love today
Thank you for introducing me to the sneaky hate spiral – now, when Ed is all what’s wrong, I have a response that is nicer than nothing, will you just leave me the f alone right now, which inevitably goes over really well with his incessant male desire to “fix” things. Hope today is better !
and ps, I agree with Lindsay – read the Hunger Games – they make everything better.
[...] nothing to say. I still have a crying hangover from yesterday. Although right before bed I read Liz’s post and followed the link over to Hyperbole and a Half. I love H&1/2 but hadn’t seen this [...]
