OK, so maybe it’s really week 9 or something. Whatever, I took two weeks off, I say it’s week 7.
Hey, I’m back, and mostly over jet lag! And I’m back in business on the HST front. I ordered a few more yards of Kona Bone and cut about 50 more squares to have on hand. Over the holiday weekend, I knocked out 20 more pairs of triangles, for 40 more blocks and a grand total of 232. This also completed my pile of greens.
Clearly, I am going to end up with WAY more blocks than I originally thought/planned. Doing the math on 4″ (finished) blocks, I figure you’d need a bare minimum of around 200 blocks to make a reasonably-sized lap quilt. I had no idea what it would take, with regard to my scrap boxes, to get there. Yeah, clearly I underestimated, as I’m already well over 200, with a couple boxes of scraps left to go and my super-high-tech and high-class storage system starting to get full.
Now, it’s on to the blue bin. That one seems at least as full as my green bin, so it may take me two weeks to get through it, and on to the purples. Can’t decide if I’m going to include brown/black/gray, too, but I probably will. Either way, I’d guess I have 3-4 weeks of triangles left, and should easily surpass 300 total blocks, and may end up with nearly a twin-sized quilt. CRAZY! Not that I know what the actual layout will be, yet…
How about you? How’s your total going, and do you feel like you have much left to go? How big does your quilt look like it will be?

Hi. Yes, I had to stop for a couple of weeks, because I had no more blue fabrics. My nearest quilt shop is an hour away. But now I have bought the last ones I needed, and will finish it, at least the center of the quilt, within a few days. I’ll put it on my blog, and on Flickr, too. Have a nice trip through your blue fabrics.
