Neptune Giveaway

By Liz · February 9th, 2011

Right! So, after that last quilt, I had a nice amount of two prints leftover that I thought I’d share with you guys.

Neptune Giveaway

The turtle damask in navy and green (on the left) is just shy of a half yard – I believe it’s 14″ x WOF.  The navy/green/teal scales (on the right) is a half yard cut.  There’s even a nice little bit of selvedge for anyone who’s into that sort of thing.

To win? Just leave a comment on this post. Any comment will do, but if you’re desperate for something fun to say, tell me what your favorite sea creature is (real or legendary).  For an extra entry, tweet about it or mention it on your blog, and leave an extra comment with the link to your tweet or post (please include me – @lizinprogress – on your tweets!).

Comments will close on Friday evening, and I promise I will get my pregnant self to the post office and have it off to you ASAP.

Good luck!

And, no, I haven’t decided exactly how to count this in my stash accounting for the year. Might have to have a separate heading for fabric given away, to keep myself honest…

Hmmmm favourite sea creature. I think that would have to be Sebastian the crab from the Little Mermaid. No, Dory! Basically any good kids- movie sea creature. Apart from Ariel herself. I feel the need to tie her hair up off her face.

Awesome giveaway! I got back into quilting just in time to miss out on neptune being available, and I still kick myself ’cause I vividly remember seeing several prints on one of my first LQS forays. Of course it’s gone now…

Thanks for a chance to win. I’ve been trying to round up a few pieces of this long out of print fabric because my mom bought me a quilt kit featuring Neptune fabrics not to long ago. It is actually a kit to make a very cool quilt that looks like life preservers to me, designed by Tula herself. Freshcuts by Heather Bailey is one of my other favorite lines that I’ve spent some time tracking down. My mom actually picked this up because the shop had subsititued Freshcuts for some of the Neptune prints they didn’t have. While I love both lines I just don’t get the combo. So I’m slowly tracking down a few pieces of Neptune to replace the Freshcuts so I can make this amazing looking quilt. Winning some would just be even better.

I was lucky enough to be snorkeling in the Caribbean last month, and I got to hang with a sea turtle for a good 20 minutes while s/he cruised around the bay. That was magic. I am also fascinated with coral. It’s alive, you know!

    Thanks for the giveaway, Liz!

I love Neptune; it’s been my favorite for several months now. I have a quilt top done using that line, just waiting to sandwich it together after I finish the 2 quilts in front of it. I did not get the two pieces you have though.

Favorite sea critter? I think whales are really cool.

Fingers crossed for a win! :)

As a kid, I fantasized about being a mermaid. Sometimes I was Ariel, sometimes I was her best friend, sometimes my mermaid imaginings were entirely unrelated to the Disney franchise.

These days, realism has kicked in, but I still love the ocean dwellers, and sometimes I think it wouldn’t be so bad to spend a day as a sea turtle. Or an orca. Or a manatee. Or a dolphin. Or a seahorse. Or a tiger shark. Or a manta ray. Or a beluga. Or a seal. Or, or, or… What was that about realism?
