A week or two ago, Daniel in particular decided he really likes being propped into a sitting position. On your lap, on the couch, on the floor, whatever. It’s his new preferred way to be.
Naturally, it coincided with the stupidest recall ever.
All I wanted was a damn Bumbo chair. But since this ridiculous recall was in effect, which amounted to getting a bigger sticker to restate the warning that was already printed on the damn thing, all of the stores had pulled it from the shelves. Seriously, people. Do we really need to sue the company because you were foolish enough to put your nine-month-old in the Bumbo, unattended, on the kitchen island?? Honestly. I had even scoped out where to get it the cheapest. My maternity center was the most expensive, at $45 even after my 10% discount. Target was better at $38, but BJ’s beat them all at $34. Fat lot of good that does me when they aren’t carrying it when I want it.
Enter Craigslist. It was mine for $25 in about 12 hours. I love the internet.
So, for today’s pictures, the twins have a go in their brand new purple Bumbo. Life is good.

So they like the Bumbo chairs? I’m thinking those are a pretty good investment for twins…
Three cheers for Craigslist from this side of the country, too! I sold both our Bumbos in (literally) less than 5 minutes–sans the whole pick-up part–for $30 a piece.
We’ve bought all sorts of stuff…toys, Bjorn, maternity clothes, Maclaren stroller, Duoglider stroller and, of course, a $5 chicken costume (that was worn for about 3 minutes total).
Your tykes are adorable! Rebecca will catch up. My kids are still small too. At 3 months, they were almost 9 lbs…now they’re huge!
Well, not quite, but they DO get bigger.
The recall was ridiculous – we all have to suffer for the stupidity of some? I’m so glad you were able to find them on Craigslist – they rock!
