Both my kids were tummy sleepers too, and they slept sooo much better.

Greeeaaaaaaat news! We did the Sleep Easy Solution a few weeks ago and it worked by night three---it's very similar to Ferber, using the interval checks, etc. But now since the stomach flu, they're not on track anymore and...more super news...their 1 year molars are coming in. I've heard those are fun times.

Once that's all over, it's back to the intervals and I know they'll be back on track shortly after.

Good job for sticking with it! The hardest part is sticking to your guns!

YES! Awesome! Isn't it a GREAT feeling when your baby sleeps straight through?! And your plan works?! CONGRATULATIONS and way to go! I can imagine that hte feeling of accomplishment and relief is doubled (at least!) when you've got BOTH babies sleeping through. Now time to Ferberize yourself, mama. :)

Also, I just had to comment on tummy sleeping. Around 4-5 months, Jack became a tummy sleeper. He just turned himself on his tummy and slept much better that way. If we flipped him to his back, he'd inevitably go back on his tummy. My pediatrician said, for what it's worth, that once they can do this themselves, you're OK letting them sleep on their tummies. I get nervous, still, though. Jack sometimes seems to have his entire face pressed into the mattress. There are many times a night when I poke a finger in there to see if his nostril is exposed. It always is. Though, as Johnny points out, by seeing if his nostril is exposed, I temporarily BLOCK Jack's nostril. Ooops! :)

Woo hoo!! There is NOTHING better than to have your kiddos sleeping through the night! I am so happy you and M had the mettle to tough it out for their sake. It's a really good feeling to be well rested, go into their room in the morning and see the smiles on their faces because they are well rested also :)

Lisa

Hooray! :) We used a method very similar to Ferber's with our two and similarly, ours were sleeping through in 3 days. :)

Enjoy the Zzzzzz's!
(There may be an occasional bump in the night, but you are on your way!)

CONGRATS!
