Despite the extra day, February really flew by. On the one hand, it’s hard to believe it’s March already. On the other hand, I look back and realize that February was a very busy month! Flew home from Florida, new teeth got sick, got better, started solids, Ferberized, sitting up, new blog, new home for old blog… whew.
Truly, each passing month is just getting better. I so prefer this age to the newborn phase. They interact, they play with toys, they smile and laugh (unprovoked, even!). They’re so strong, and you can see them really thinking about something (see toy, want toy, get toy). They crack up at the dog, and try to grab her. They grin ear-to-ear when M comes home. The down side is that, in the last few days, I think I’ve noticed the beginning of clinginess and separation anxiety. That, I’m not looking forward to.
Not much else to report, as all of my mental energy is going towards anxiety over this week’s trip to California. We’ll survive, I’m sure.
Most importantly, however, I give you this month’s chair pictures. This was the only one I got with them both sitting and smiling. Daniel preferred to slouch or lie down on the chair, and Rebecca really wanted to stand up. The girl often does not want to bend in the middle. Ah well.

Oh, they are SO cute. I love how Rebecca is standing on the chair.
Clinginess and separation anxiety are at once terrible and precious. I love that Jack wants me, but it’s heartbreaking to hear him whimper or cry whenever I disappear from view (especially before I leave for work).
Happy 7 months!! Don’t worry about separation anxiety. Their interactions with you when they are with you will more than make up for it. The fun is just beginning!
just caught up here and, yep, i love the later months so much more than the earlier ones. my boys just do so much more and their needs are still constant, but different. i really am loving this time, we are at 10.5 months now and it is amazing to think how far we have come. and congrats on the successful travel, enjoy your trip.
