Both kids have been rather obsessed with drinking from regular cups and/or my big water bottle recently. And, actually, have been getting reasonably good at it! So, this morning, I decided to make a switch. From now on, meals will all have milk in an open cup. For our first breakfast, not too shabby. Significantly more of it ended up in their mouths than in their bibs or on the floor. That’s success in the world of toddlers! And, I have to say, they were pretty jazzed about the whole thing.
In the meantime, does anyone have a recommendation for where to find small (like 4 ounce) break-resistant cups? The Take & Toss ones are OK if I don’t fill them too much, but I think a smaller cup might be nice.

IKEA has awesome ones. They are called Kalas tumblers and they’re BPA free. They seem to be just the right size. If you can’t get out there for awhile, let me know and I can give you some of ours. We have a lot.

Yes, IKEA. The plates, bowls & silverware are great too… and cheap! Unfortunately you can’t order them online.

Have to agree with the Ikea Kalas cups. That’s what we use and love them!

pottery barn kids at the burlington mall had some cute hard plastic tumblers – reminded me of the ones they have at restaurants.

We’re all about the IKEA ones down here, too. Perfect size and fewer spills than when we use our take and toss ones in a pinch.

Ikea!
Oh, wait, everyone said already.
Anyway, Ikea!

As stated above the Ikea’s cups rock, as do their plates, bowls and silverware. In the meantime, if you can’t get there quickly try Target. They have some cute small cups with their plate sets–we have the monkey ones which my kids love…
We have some from Target. They are melamine & very durable. Great for that transitional phase (and heck, we still use them now and the kids are 5).
And, I’m incredibly jealous of people who live that near an Ikea.

hm. I would say Ikea … but that’s been said.
Another option is the 4 oz snack cup from take -n- toss.

I am late to the party, but I wonder if you have a Kmart? I think you mentioned before how far away Ikea is…I picked up 4 clear glass kid-sized cups at Kmart and that is what we have been using. They are the size of adult juice cups.
uh, make that clear plastic!
Very impressive! I’m looking forward to cup using, but think we’re still quite a ways off. Unfortunately, the girls are incredibly destructive with their sippy lids. I guess they’ll have to start using cups when I get fed up with buying more sippy lids. Then again, I’m sure I’ll then have to stock up on swiffer replacements and detergent to manage the deluge of spills

Babies r us has cheap sippy cups with non spill resistant lids. Those cups with the top off work great!
I have some from Target and we like them. I kind of made the mistake of buying one snowmen on it with the snowflakes floating- like a snow globe. And now she insists on drinking out of that one.
I also have one of these-

The sippy part comes off (we have never used that part). My daughter also requests this one sometimes. A little pricier, but cute!

Man, I get the BEST tips from you and your readers! Going to make an IKEA run this weekend!
BTW, because of you, I joined my local Mother of Multiples club recently and LOVE it! I haven’t attended any events just yet but it’s been fun talking to the other mothers online.
